Telford Model Aero Club is affiliated to the British Model Flying Association (BMFA). All members must also be a member of the BMFA to make use of their insurance.
We also recognise the BMFA Achievement Scheme with the A and B certificates, though not required to be a member or to be a solo flyer (see below club rules). We have two BMFA examiners, for those wishing to progress/complete an achievement scheme test.
TMAC Membership runs from our AGM in December through to the following AGM. BMFA membership & insurance runs from 1st January until 31st December. Proof of BMFA insurance must be shown when joining the club unless it is purchased at the same time as club membership.
Club Subscriptions for 2022 are as follows:-
Spouse / Partner at same address: £60
Junior (U18): £40*
*Juniors need both parental consent and supervision whilst at our club.
Non-Flying Member: £25
TMAC IS NOW OPEN AGAIN TO NEW MEMBERS. A FEW SPACES AVAILABLE.
TMAC welcomes total beginners to veterans.
If you are interested in flying RC Planes or Helicopters with us, please first either call Alan White on 07446 932163 or E Mail our club firstname.lastname@example.org.
We can explain to you, our club facilities and ethos, answer any questions and ensure we meet your needs.
Often, you will be invited as a guest to our field. Give time for you to see for yourself and answer any questions "face to face".
Perhaps have a quest and supervised flight or, if you are a beginner, a go on our Simulator?
Once all parties are happy, then send to Alan or Mike your application.

Important Rule for New Members
At TMAC we pride ourselves on safety and consider it to be of paramount importance. Whilst the club has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere and we want flying to be fun and safe, therefore we have some basic rules, which are adhered to.
One is that we adopt our own Club Flight Test to ensure that all new members are fully aware of our flying site rules and can demonstrate that they are safe and competent to fly solo.
Anyone holding a BMFA "A" or 'B' certificate will be expected to take at least one successful flight test with one of our BMFA registered instructors, before being allowed to fly solo at our club.
Anyone without either an 'A' or 'B' will be expected to take THREE successful flight tests (on separate days) to prove that they are competent to fly solo.
Up to achievement of successful flight tests, buddy box and/or TMAC member supervision is required, dependant on competency of pilot (as determined by a club examiner).
These flight tests are very simple (far easier than the BMFA 'A' test) and consist of a take-off, rectangular circuits in both directions and a landing!
We just want to confirm our club rules are understood by you, and then see that you are safe and fully in control of your model type at all times.
Once you have completed the above to the satisfaction of our approved club examiner, you will receive a Club Certificate.
