Training is normally provided by our BMFA Registered Club Instructor Rachael Plant. Rachael comes from a rotary wing
(Helicopter) competition background and has won the 2016 Synchro Pair World championships and is a multi times F3N nationals Winner (sport class) but now enjoys teaching people to fly both Fixed and Rotary wing model aircraft. Training is done on the students own model using a buddy box method which requires the use of Spektrum transmitters. All modes can easily be taught however Mode 2 (throttle right) is used by the Majority. Other systems such as Futaba or Radiomaster can be used but will require the student to provide the master TX, as well as their own.
Free "Taster lessons" can be arranged on the clubs trainer aircraft so that you can "Try before you buy" and also get advice on which type of aircraft will suit your needs. (You are not required to be a club member or hold BMFA membership to take advantage of this.)
